YES! is thrilled to announce the hiring of Erica Marshall as our new Program Fellow based in Charlotte, NC. Erica is a Charlotte native with rich experience in youth advocacy, health education and social justice. Erica has knowledge and expertise ranging from lobbying on Capitol Hill to working at local non-profits that serve communities of color, all while obtaining her degree from Howard University in the field of Communications.
Erica will be filling a new position at YES! as a Program Fellow, funded through a grant from the Funder’s Collaborative on Youth Organizing (FCYO). YES!’s new funding opportunity from the FCYO will not only support the program coordinator position in Charlotte but it will also provide Erica with a network of other Fellows from across the country to learn from, connect with and leverage each others’ skills and expertise all while working on the Youth for Healthy Schools initiative. YES! is grateful to FCYO for this funding investment and we are ecstatic over Erica joining our team.
“I look forward to watching the youth staff develop skills and confidence as they realize that they have a voice and the power to make a positive impact in their community.” – Erica Marshall
“We are so excited to welcome Erica to the YES! team, this was a fast-paced and competitive hiring process and the moment we met Erica in person we knew she was the right person to fill the fellowship position. She brings a depth of knowledge in public health, a communications-based skill set, and a mindfulness for the work that is sure to lead to a lasting impact on Charlotte, our YES! youth staff and communities as a whole.” – Katie Spears Warner, Team Lead
