Hello, I am a sophomore at William G. Enloe High School in Raleigh, North Carolina. I first heard about Youth Empowered Solutions (YES!) through YES! staff members who had set up a table in my school lobby one day during lunch. Though I did not know at the time, the people at that table, who were looking for people to hire, would soon become my co-workers. When I learned more about the job, I was thrilled to be a part of the organization and take part in changing our community by focusing on preventing underage drinking with The Answer. I felt as if I could actually make a difference along with the other YES! staff, and gradually I am starting to see that hard work pays off in the end. I have learned a lot through the months I have been employed and continue to grow more and more each day with critical awareness in hopes of having more opportunities to make a change in our communities and other surrounding areas. Here at YES! I have learned to develop my own opinions based solely off of facts about certain issues through critical thinking questions. YES! is a very open and positive environment where youth leaders, along with the adult leaders, work in partnership so that everyone has a voice in discussions and decisions that we may face or come across. I truly enjoy advocating for YES! along with the rest of the positively dedicated youth and adult leaders and I hope to continue this not only to empower myself and the organization, but others as well.

Hi, my name is Barak Biblin and I am a Junior at William G. Enloe High School in Raleigh, N.C. I enjoy reading, learning, and making a positive impact on others and my community. Youth Empowered Solutions (YES!) was an organization that I had always wanted to be part of. YES! allows me to take an even greater stance in my community and empowers me to make positive changes especially with underage drinking. Every day at work with YES! is huge progress for youth and for North Carolina, and I hope the work I do and knowledge I gain with YES! spreads to youth all around the state.
